About Me

A third generation Denver Native, Susan Henderson has spent most of her adult life traveling the world, beginning with Colorado University of Boulder’s, Semester at Sea. After college, and over the next decade, Susan lived in New York, Paris, Milan, and Oslo, the last being an entre into a Denver based business she began in 1984. Bik Bok opened in Cherry Creek North and was a premier clothing store for men and women for close to a decade. Henderson was profiled in the Denver Business Journal when she managed to get her clothes on the Bill Cosby show.

Her penchant for being an entrepreneur, as well as a passionate traveler, inspired her to start another business in 1998, Trog de Lights. This company, which she still maintains today, imports antique lighting from South America. Some of her acquisitions can be seen in many high profile homes in Denver’s finest neighborhoods: Country Club, Cherry Hills, Polo Grounds, and Hilltop as well as some commercial applications.

Eventually, this led Susan into real estate where she loves to mix her knowledge of old buildings and love of new creative construction. Her business acumen has proven beneficial with negotiations, understanding the bottom line with sellers, buyers, developers, and investors, and working through the myriad of issues that can arise with any transaction. Both her commercial and residential clients have benefited.

Customer service is a premier aspect of Susan’s work ethic. After owning her own business for more than 19 years, she understands and feels an obligation to her clients to bring the best deal possible to completion. Her motivation is not just for the end result, the process is equally important to her. To that end Susan has been among the top ten brokers in FTC.

Some of the properties that Susan has listed in her career are: 694 Ash St. that was featured in “The Gypsy Cottage” book by Nina Williams, Eron Johnson’s personal home, Lofts in the Flour Mill in Lodo, as well as many homes around Denver. She has also brought buyers to many wonderful homes in Country Club, Wash Park, Hill Top and Park Hill. Some of the premier commercial properties are: The Malo Mansion, offices for Buchanan Yonushewski Architects, next to the Governors Mansion. The new headquarters for the Burton Snowboard wholesale showroom. The Brind Mansion and Denver’s first flower shop: Ardelt’s Victorian Garden.

Susan is also fluent in French and Norwegian and resides in Hilltop with her two children who attend Rocky Mountain School of Expeditionary Learning. She is active with her children’s school, and is on the Board of Global Education Fund, a non-profit organization in Boulder that builds Libraries and delivers books and in underdeveloped countries around the world.
