I specialize in representing sellers and buyers of vintage homes in central-Denver’s early neighborhoods and historic districts. My clients benefit from my unique expertise in vintage home styles, architectural features, structural and mechanical details. My goal is to create peace of mind for vintage homebuyers and sellers by providing keen market insight into central-Denver neighborhoods along with a treasure trove of resources for inspection, maintenance, restoration and repair tailored to old house ownership. I have a passion for creating relationships and delivering a level of service that develops “raving fans” and lifetime friendships.
Last year I was honored to serve as an expert speaker for Historic Denver, Inc. and their Landmark Real Estate training program, teaching other Realtors enrolled in this continuing education credit program the nuances of marketing vintage and historic properties.
I am a veteran of several whole-house restorations of my own, including a 1910 Craftsman house, a 1926 Spanish Eclectic and my current home, a landmark Art Deco house that was one of General Electric’s “Modern American Home” technology showcases of 1935.
My passion for “doing right” by vintage homes extends to my creation and sponsorship of Old House Expo, an annual one-day public service event that connects old-house dwellers with expert speakers and tradespeople that specialize in vintage homes – from heating, cooling and energy efficiency experts to window and door restoration and renovation design specialists. I donate the revenue generated by the Old House Expo to its host location each year, including churches, schools and other historic community buildings.
Community service is also a passion, because of the connection with people and sence of contribution service provides. My favorites include coordinating fund-raising for the East High School entry plaza revitalization program through Project Angel Pride. My husband and I helped create Park Hill’s now-famous Safe Halloween Campaign and “Ghost Posts” for greater security and sense of neighborhood unity in 1994, and I continue to sponsor that annual effort. Dee is a frequent sponsor and volunteer for both the Historic Denver House Tour Park Hill Garden Tour and Park Hill Home Tour events.
Before my real estate career I worked in the high-tech semiconductor (computer chips) industry where I often earned top honors for quality client service and sales volume including “Most Valuable Player” for major components distributor Wyle Electronics.
